Who was "Darwin's Bulldog"?
Thomas Henry Huxley"Darwin's Bulldog" was a name coined for Thomas Henry Huxley, the English Biologist and early advocate of Darwin's Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection. Huxley is most famous for his participation in an 1860 debate with the Bishop Of Oxford, Sam Wilberforce.
Why did I call this blog "Darwin's Bulldog"? I could pretend that I see myself as being analogous to Huxley in some way, seeking to profess the truth and logic of other people's wonderful ideas. Maybe there is a grain of truth in that.
However, it is also true that:
- I studied Biological Sciences at University
- I like the name
- The domain name was available ...
